On a cold Melbourne day, Sanggar Lestari braved the weather as we performed at the Foodie Trails Docklands Multicultural Festival.

We were so glad to see families out and about, enjoying the festivities! From Henna, Sing-alongs to cooking demonstrations there was no shortage of things to do!

We performed Tari Roro Ngigel from Java and attracted an audience that was just the right size to follow on with a Ge Mu Fa Mi Re Line Dance Workshop! It was a great opportunity to perform Tari Roro Ngigel as we had been rehearsing this dance for the past month. It is a fun dance with a cool mix of traditional Javanese movements as well as some faster more upbeat rhythms. During our workshop, It was incredible seeing people of all ages involving themselves and dancing along with us! Who doesn't love a good line dance?

After changing, we also enjoyed the Foodie Trails Festival. Mama Ning participated in an Indian Sari Workshop, we watched some more cultural performances and enjoyed some hot food and coffee to end the day!

We loved being part of such an inclusive event! This festival celebrated the unique and diverse cultures throughout Melbourne and we can't wait for the next one!
