Tari Puspanjali with Gamelan DanAnda

We’re finally getting back into the swing of things and have finally started up our weekly rehearsals back in-house at Lestari HQ again! Not only have we been rehearsing again, but we have also had a couple of special performances to rehearse for!

Jeremy from Gamelan DanAnda got in touch with us to collaborate on a performance for a young man’s 50th Birthday Celebration a couple of months ago. Since Con the birthday boy couldn’t celebrate his milestone birthday in Bali this year, he decided to bring Bali to him! Unfortunately, this event was postponed as we had a snap lockdown (once again) in Melbourne - But we were finally able to go ahead last month!

We had the chance to visit Jeremy and his gamelan musicians at his studio for one quick rehearsal with the whole crew before performing for Con and his guests. What a wonderful experience it was to dance to a live gamelan orchestra.
