Full Moon Festival

Foodie Trails Melbourne invited us again to perform for another one of their delicious Food Festivals!

This time, it was at the Dandenong Market for the Full Moon Festival!

For this festival, Sanggar Lestari performed 'Tari Tor-Tor' from the Batak Culture of Sumatera, Indonesia. We love this dance as it uses bright coloured Kebayas and the traditional 'Ulos' kain.

Following our first dance performance of Tari Tor-Tor, we welcomed participants onto the stage to learn 'Ge Mu Fa Mire' line dancing and some Tari Tor Tor movements. Needless to say, we were very impressed at the confidence of our young participants! After learning and performing the movements with the audience, Sanggar Lestari Melbourne performed again to close our set.

We are so grateful for not only the audience participation but the support of our huge Lestari Family! Even members who were not performing on stage attended and supported our workshop. Also a huge thank you to Nab and Mas Rayhan who proudly rocked their Lestari Jumpers in the audience! We love seeing friends and family wearing our Merchandise.

The Multicultural vibe of the festival at Dandenong Market was incredible. We were lucky to enjoy other performances including a Double Lions performance, Kung Fu demonstration and a Mandolin performing group.

We can't wait to see where the next Foodie Trails Festival takes us!
